Regulatory and Certification Information
Purcell Systems enclosures conform to various regulatory and certification standards including NEMA, GR-487, UL 60950-1,UL 508A,and ETSI.
NEMA Ratings
NEMA is a trade association for the electrical manufacturing industry for products used in the generation, transmission and distribution, control, and end-use of electricity. The NEMA standard for outdoor enclosures and cabinets provides general information on the performance standards of enclosure types to architects, engineers, installers, inspectors and other interested parties. Most market segments using enclosures will require NEMA ratings.

UL 60950-1 Standard
UL is a global independent safety testing company that defines safety standards and verifies that products meet their standards. The UL 60950-1 standard is applicable to mains-powered or battery-powered information technology equipment with a rated voltage not exceeding 600 V. The UL 60950-1 standard is applicable to information technology equipment designed for use as telecommunication terminal equipment and network infrastructure equipment, regardless of the source of power. Most market segments using enclosures will require the UL 60950-1 Listing Mark.
UL 508A Standard
UL is a global independent safety testing company that defines safety standards and verifies that products meet their standards. The UL 508A certification is an industrial control panel directive, which is sought by electrical inspectors. A UL 508A Listing Mark shows that the panel complies with an acceptable safety standard. Some market segments using enclosures will require the UL 508A Listing Mark.
